The Seibu Lions will apparently be pushing Hideaki Wakui, Kazuyuki Hoashi, and Takayuki Kishi to do a lot of running during fall practice because the three seemed to lose some steam towards the end of the season this year.
"We'll turn them into horses," said pitching coach Tetsuya Shiozaki. "Their stamina didn't last throughout the entire season. Those guys run during the season, but we need to re-work their conditioning for throwing and for running."
Shiozaki continued, "Last year, before I knew it, Wakui was already playing catch during the fall. [This year] it'll be about running until the end of practice. From 10 in the morning until about 2 in the afternoon."
