Kanagawa governor Shigenobu Matsuzawa held a press conference on Tuesday and told reporters that one of his dreams was to create a domed stadium to support a baseball team, in addition to being able to host other sports like soccer as well.
"In a place like Minato Mirai that's close to Yokohama Stadium, there are still some remaining plots that are easy to access. I think it would great if I can sit down with the mayor of Yokohama and the financial heads to talk about ideas of this," said Matsuzawa.
Regarding construction costs, Matsuzawa said, "The prefecture and the city is going through some tough economic times so we would have to consider asking people to help pay for the construction. I think a stadium / theme park with things like restaurants would be good."
