The Hanshin Tigers held an emergency meeting on Saturday to discuss their bullpen weakness and how they might go about filling them. The Tigers were hoping to address the weakness by drafting Tatsuya Oishi, but since they missed out on him, they're now trying to figure out what their next move will be. That also includes whether or not they should offer Randy Messenger an extension for the 2011 season and the role he might play.
While the Tigers did sign Robert Zarate to an Ikusei contract the other day, they don't necessarily consider him Ichi-gun ready.
The Tigers are currently working on pulling together a list of foreign starters and relievers that can help the team right away.
