Nikkan Sports is guessing that the Fighters either offered Morimoto the same amount he made this year (80M yen) or something slightly less.

Morimoto met with the front office today and apparently received an offer.  After his meeting, he told reporters that he was still interested in testing the open market and was hoping to come up with a decision before the end of the Nippon Series.

It seems Hichori Morimoto may be leaning toward exercising his FA option in order to test the market and see how much value he carries with other clubs.  As of yesterday, Morimoto was also scheduled to meet with the front office sometime today.

With Atsunori Inaba a regular in right, Yoshio Itoi more or less taking over in center (played 137 games in center this season), and the two rooks Sho Nakata and Dai-Kang Yang (Yoh) potentially taking over in left, Morimoto may not have much of a chance to win a starting position in the outfield.  The Fighters are also said to be looking into foreign outfielder players with pop.
