Minoru Iwata faced 10 batters during a simulated game on Wednesday and gave up 2 hits. Iwata tossed a total 38 pitches and topped out at 139km/h.
Naoto Tsuru faced 8 batters and gave up 1 hit.
Yuhei Kai went 3-for-5: a single between short and third off Iwata, a double to left of Keiji Uezono, and a single to left off Tsuru. Kai went 0-for-4 the day before and apparently struggled with the off-speed pitches.
Masanori Fujihara tossed 70 pitches in the bullpen at fall camp on Wednesday. He's currently making modifications to his delivery in the hopes of finding something he's comfortable with.
Atsushi Nomi worked out at Koshien Stadium on Wednesday. Nomi told reporters he still hasn't used the new regulation NPB baseball and probably won't until after the start of the New Year.
Robert Zarate will be returning to Venezuela after fall practice later this month. Seems his workouts during the off-season will consist of bike-riding (from his house to the beach), swimming, and running. Zarate also apparently likes to surf, but will forgo that due to the possibility of injury.
Tomoaki Kanemoto worked in the weight room for about an hour at Naruohama on Wednesday. He then got treatment for his right shoulder at the player dorms.
Akinobu Mayumi and fielding coach Koji Yamawaki took turns hitting balls (for about 40 minutes) to Yamoto and Tatsuhiko Saka in the outfield at fall camp on Wednesday.
Masashi Nohara and Daiki Kiyohara will be joining the Tigers in Kochi on the 5th for fall camp. The two were participating at the Intercontinental Cup.
