It seems the Hiroshima Carp will be exercising their 2011 option on Mike Schultz. Schultz's new contract will be for US$900,000 (about 73M yen) plus incentives next year. That's up from the US$750,000 he made this year.
It seems the Carp also won't be renewing with Justin Huber, Jeff Fiorentino, and Vinnie Chulk. And depending on whether or not the Carp can secure other foreign players, Giancarlo Alvarado and Eric Stults could be returning to Hiroshima next season.

Taketo Kawaguchi threw 62 pitches in the bullpen on Friday. Kawaguchi is currently tweaking his delivery (lowering his arm angle) and is working on putting more movement on his pitches and keeping them down in the zone.
