Japan Student Baseball Association hands down sentences [11/5/2010]

The Japan Student Baseball Association met on the 5th to determine punishments for 8 high schools.

Game Suspensions

Otsu Shogyo (Shiga) - 1 month beginning on 10/13 - violence within the club

Tsukidate (Miyagi) - 1 month beginning on 10/18 - violence within the club

Tokai (Ibaraki) - 3 months beginning on 10/7 - violence within the club

Takehara (Hiroshima) - 1 month beginning on 10/15 - shoplifting

Suspensions

Matsuyama Seiryo High School (Ehime) manager - 1 month beginning on 10/5 - violence outside of the club

Musashigaoka High School (Tokyo) manager - 3 months beginning on 10/10 - violence within the club

Yokoshibakeiai High School (Chiba) manager - 3 months beginning on 10/15 - violence within the club

Okaya Minami High School (Nagano) director - 1 month beginning on 10/25 - violence within the club

      I’m guessing you’re talking about the game suspensions, because outside of that, teams pretty much practice year-round.

      Based on what I know, high schools aren’t allowed to hold practice games between December 1st and the following year’s March 7th. That means teams can still play practice games against other high schools through to the end of November.

      I’m not entirely sure what happens to the suspensions once high schools are no longer allowed to play games. I checked the rules but couldn’t find any mention of those of cases.
