Yu-Hyeon Park, Chang-Yong Lim's agent, told reporters yesterday that they still haven't been able to agree on a contract with the Yakult Swallows.
Sanspo lists two problems: the third year doesn't appear to be guaranteed and there's a difference of opinion in terms of who should carry the option, the club or Lim; and the money isn't exactly what Lim was hoping for.
Sports Hochi has a slightly different take:
- Deadline for a deal: through to the end of November.
- Lim is looking for 1.2B yen (or more) over three years while the Swallows are said to have offered Lim a 3-year deal worth 1B yen. And it seems this is connected to incentives.
- Differences of opinion regarding the option year.
- The two sides are expected to meet sometime early next week.
