The Tigers played a simulated game on Saturday. Takumi Akiyama, Tatsuya Kojima, Kazuya Tsutsui, Kai-Wen Cheng, and Daiki Kiyohara made appearances.
Kojima, currently working on acquiring a shuto during the off-season, faced 7 batters and allowed 1 hit.
Tsutsui, currently tweaking his delivery, faced 8 batters and allowed 2 hits.
Kohei Shibata went 2-for-3. Issei Morita went 2-for-3 with an RBI. Yuhei Kai went 0-for-3.
The owner, Shinya Sakai, was on hand to watch practice on Saturday. He also had a message for the young players (mostly for Morita and Kai it seems): work hard so that don't get beat by players like Ikuhiro Kiyota and Yohei Oshima.
The Tigers plan on meeting with Tomoaki Kanemoto and Kentaro Sekimoto on the 8th. The Tigers are waiting in replies from both of them.
It seems the Tigers have decided to hold onto Randy Messenger for the 2011 season.
The club also announced that they re-sign Kai-Wen Cheng to a one year deal worth an estimated 10M yen.
