Seems a number of Yakult players are suffering from aches and pains during fall camp.
On Saturday, Shingo Kawabata (tightness in back) and Takahiro Araki (tightness in his left foot) had to break away from practice. And during fielding practice on the same day, Ryohei Kawamoto was hit in the left eye by a baseball thrown in from the outfield. As of yesterday, Kawamoto was scheduled to return to Tokyo today in order to get some tests done on his left eye.
Position players have been pushed pretty hard during fall camp so far. Their days often last about 9 hours and begin with weight-training in the morning and end with evening practice sessions. Junji Ogawa seemed worried about the problems, but told reporters that he thought it was only a temporary problem.
