Kenta Maeda is hoping he'll have a chance to pitch in the same rotation with Hiroki Kuroda next year.
Said Maeda, "I only had a chance to play along side [Kuroda] for one year but [if he returns] he'll definitely be a big help. It would be an honor to play with him again."
Kenjiro Nomura tempered his hopes and said, "We still don't know what he'll do. And if he returns, other clubs will get involved and we should as well."
Incidentally, Maeda will be using the rest of the year to "recharge his batteries" for the 2011 season -- that means no bullpen sessions, or throwing hard.
Soichiro Amaya is apparently planning on having a new mouth guard made for the 2011 season. Amaya started using a mouth guard on 8/27 in order to squeeze out every bit of power possible. He also saw his batting average rise as he went 30-for-92 (.326) after getting the mouth guard.
