Tetsuya Sakaguchi (Ikusei 1st round) apparently wants the number 006, in honor of former Tiger Taira Fujita, who also wore the number 6 and graduated from the same high school as Sakaguchi. Said Sakaguchi, "I'd like the number 006. Because [Taira] Fujita wore 6. And I'd like to wear the number 6 at some point in the future." Seems it's also because he wants to play short.
...agreed to basic terms with Hiroya Shimamoto (Ikusei 2nd round). Contract 3M yen, bonus 2M yen.
Kyohei Nakamura (2nd round) has his sights set on hitting 160km/h. Said Nakamura, "I'd like to hit 160km/h. I'm still growing and I think if I can strengthen my lower body more, I can do it." When Nakamura first enrolled at Fuji University, his fastball was in the 130km/h range (he also had some elbow problems in his second year of high school that kept him from pushing things). And just last year he managed to hit 153km/h. It also seems he was assigned Ken Takahashi's number 22.
...agreed to basic terms with Ryosuke Ikenouchi (Ikusei 2nd round). Contract 3M yen, bonus 3M yen.
The Swallows are preparing the number 111 for Takanori Sato (Ikuse 3rd round). Takanori's older brother, Yoshinori, wears the number 11 and the hope is that Takanori can +1 his older brother. The extra 1 also apparently makes reference to the team's leading hitter, Norichika Aoki, who wears the number 1. Talk about pressure...
Yokohama Bay Stars

Nippon Ham Fighters
The Fighters are thinking of having a doppelganger for Yuki Saito (1st round) during spring camp next year (the idea is to keep Saito safe from huge crowds by relying on misdirection). And for now, it seems Yusuke Uemura might be a likely candidate to be Saito's doppelganger.
