The Hawks got a new type of pitching machine (created by Gyro Giken) at fall camp that can pretty much throw any kind of pitch in existence (including sliders, sinkers, shutos, and gyroballs) at speeds up to 160km/h.

The machine apparently costs about 1.32M yen and is connected to a computer where the operator can "teach" the system to throw any type of pitch by entering information in like ball revolutions and the angle of the axis of revolution.

The Softbank Hawks signed a partnership agreement with Aoyama suit company.  Under the agreement, Aoyama will provide the Hawks with suits for players to wear while they are on the road and for any ceremonies that takes place during the season.  Toshiya Sugiuchi and Tadashi Settsu were also modeled a couple of suits during a press conference to announce the agreement.
