ESPN's Tony Jackson is reporting that a source informed him that Hiroki Kuroda wants to stay in the US for at least one more year (via Nikkan Sports).

A snip:

And although it was thought Hiroki Kuroda was considering returning to his native Japan after his three-year, $35.3 million contract with the Dodgers expired, a source with knowledge of the situation said Kuroda is interested in remaining in the U.S. for one more season.

Hideki Matsui attended Joe Torre's Safe at Home Foundation Gala on the 11th.  Seems Matsui hasn't done much thinking with regards to his FA status and expected expected things to take a while.

Meanwhile, Nikkan Sports mentions that there's a chance the A's might be interested in Matsui and quotes an MLB.com article that notes Matsui will likely be considered a full-time DH and could potentially hit 20 homers and drive in 80+ RBIs, if healthy.

The rumor of Daisuke Matsuzaka being involved in a trade with the Cubs for Kosuke Fukudome has hit the Japanese media and it was the Chicago Tribune's Phil Rogers that tweeted the Cubs might thinking about proposing the trade (there's also a full article on the concept by Rogers here).  Since then a number of reports (like here, here, and here) have surfaced debunking the rumor.  (via Nikkan Sports)

Sports Hochi seems to think the Mets, Mariners, and Diamondbacks might be interested in Hiroyuki Kobayashi.
