Yoshiyuki Kamei started at third and handled 4 chances without any problems. Kamei also went 3-for-3 with a home run batting out of the clean-up spot.

The Giants added something new to practice on Thursday: infield / base-running coach Hironori Suguro hit tennis balls to players decked out in catcher's gear from a distance of about 5-10 meters. The player wearing the gear then had to swat balls away using a practice glove. Said head coach Kaoru Okazaki, "[This is about] physically getting used to hard hit balls."
Hayato Sakamoto, Yoshiyuki Kamei, Taishi Ota, and Daijiro Tanaka all gave it a shot.
The Giants agreed to terms with the following players:
Takahiro Suzuki got a 2-year deal worth 40M yen per year (down 2M yen).
Kazunari Tsuruoka signed for 40M yen (down 2M yen).
Daisuke Ochi put the Giants on hold.
