The Fighters apparently won't get caught up in a bidding war for Hichori Morimoto. The Fighter currently have a 2-year deal worth 200M yen on the table for Morimoto and even if teams like the Yokohama Bay Stars offer something about that, the Fighters probably won't submit a counter-offer.
Said a club rep, "The last offer we submitted is firm. We told him we wanted him to stay and that he was an important part of the club."
The media learned on Friday that the Fighters will be giving Seibu Lions' senryokugai Kenta Matsusaka a tryout. Seems the team was impressed with Matsusaka when they saw him at the 12-team tryouts on the 10th and feel that he might be able to help fill the hole Morimoto opens if he leaves via free agency.
Shinji Takahashi agreed to a 2011 salary of 70M yen (down 50M yen) on Friday. Takahashi only managed to play in 70 games this season after he was hit in the head by pitch in July.
