Rakuten Eagles to announce agreement with Akinori Iwamura

The media (like Sanspo and Nikkan Sports) learned yesterday that the Rakuten Eagles have agreed to basic terms with Akinori Iwamura and will likely make a formal announcement of a deal sometime within the next few days.
Interestingly, Senichi Hoshino appeared on Nippon TV's Going! Sports & News last night and was shown a list of players (potential FAs and Japanese MLB players that were FAs) that included Iwamura and was asked which player he wanted. The first player he actually pointed to was Iwamura.

Egad. Do you happen to know the contract details? Aki is DONE. FINISHED. His knee was torn to shreds in Boston and he hasn’t even come close to his former self. I suppose he MIGHT be a 3rd base upgrade over Nakamura, but something tells me he’ll get Nori-type compensation. A dreadful move.

Haven’t found any mention about the contract yet. Details will probably be posted within the next couple days.
