The Yomiuri Giants played a practice game against the Softbank Hawks on Saturday and won, 4-2.
Jumpei Ono started the game and tossed 4 shutout innings and did not give up a hit. Seems Ono pitched well, other than a walk to lead-off the game. Said Ono, "Even though it was a practice game, it gave me confidence. This is the time for me to show them what I'm capable of doing." Ono also topped out at 150km/h.
Genki Kawano was the starting catcher and was responsible for collecting the team first hit in his first bat in the 3rd inning.
Yoshiyuki Kamei started at third and handled his one chance without any problem.
Hayato Sakamoto mishandled three opportunities at short (two were called errors). Sakamoto committed a league high 21 errors at short this past year.
