Yakult Swallows sign Wladimir Balentien to 1 yr deal worth 65M yen

Jiji Press reports that the agreement is a 1-year deal worth 65M yen plus incentives.

The Swallows announced today that they managed to sign Balentien.

The Yakult Swallows are apparently interested in 26-year-old outfielder Wladimir Balentien.
Balentien got his start in the Majors when the Mariners signed him as an undrafted free agent in 2000. He got his first cup of tea in 2007 and was then traded to the Cincinnati Reds in 2009.
The Swallows see Balentien as someone that can help provide the line-up with some pop.
