While the Chiba Lotte Marines have said they'll more or less accept whatever bid they received for Tsuyoshi Nishioka, it isn't entirely clear what kind of money Nishioka is looking for. And if a deal can't be reach, Nishioka could always end up returning to the Marines next season.
And the Seattle Post-Intelligencer's Gerry Spratt (via iSM) seems to think that might be a possibility based on way Hisashi Iwakuma's contract talks have gone so far. A snip:
The Boston Red Sox, Minnesota Twins and Baltimore Orioles are thought to be interested. The Mariners also have been mentioned as possible suitors.
But if the Oakland Athletics' experience with right-hander Hisashi Iwakuma is any indication, Nishioka might be returning to the Chiba Lotte Marines next season.
For reference, Nishioka made 170M this past season.
