Hideaki Wakui met with the Seibu Lions today and was offered the same salary he made this year (120M yen). While Wakui was fine with the salary, it seems he wasn't entirely convinced with the incentives and put off on agreeing to terms today. Wakui record his 4th straight double-digit win season this year and may be pushing for a big payoff if he makes it 5 in a row.
The Chunichi Dragons and Kazuhiro Wada agreed to a 3-year deal with a 2011 salary of 400M yen (up 120M yen from this season. Wada is currently 38 and will be 41 at the end of the deal.
UPDATE: The deal also makes Wada the highest paid player in Dragons' history (the previous high of 385M yen was set in 1997 by Kosuke Fukudome).
