The Hanshin Tigers might take Kenji Jojima along with them to spring camp, even if it he's working his own training menu. A lot will also depend on where Jojima is come February.
It seems Akinobu Mayumi may bring extra players (perhaps 45 to 46 players) to Ichi-gun spring camp in February. The focus would be on younger players as it seems the Tigers are trying to give them as many opportunities as possible. This also means the Tigers won't be actively seeking new players, although that can change if the younger players don't step up.
Shunsuke Fujikawa is hoping to work out with Akihito Fujii during the off-season.
Said Fujikawa, "It would be great if we can [work out together]. He's been a pro for a long time and I'm sure there are a lot of things he can teach me."
Both players are Kinki University graduates.
As mentioned in passing, the Tigers have run out of space in their player dorm and have decided to rent out extra rooms for at least 4 of their Ikusei players: Yusuke Kuroda, Shuhei Kuroda, Shintaro Tanaka, and Koji Yoshioka. Based on the previous report, Robert Zarate will also likely be joining them.
