According two at least two reports (Nikkan Sports and Nishinippon Shimubun), it seems Seiichi Uchikawa may have decided to join the Softbank Hawks. It seems the two sides have already begun negotiations behind the scenes and will physically meet for the first time on the 26th to finalize what could be a 4-year deal worth up to 1.2B yen.
Uchikawa currently has two other offers on the table: Yokohama - 4 years, 1B yen; Hiroshima - 3 years, 600M yen. The base on the Hawks' deal would be 4 years at 200M yen per year with up to 100M yen in incentives each year, for a possible total value of 1.2B yen over the life of the contract.
Sadaharu Oh is also expected to join the negotiation table on the 26th.
