by on Nov.26, 2010 @ 4:24 pm, under NPB

The city of Chiba informed the media on Thursday that they received a total 4 offers for naming rights to Chiba Marine Stadium.  The city has until mid-December to decide which offer they will accept.  The name of the new stadium will then be introduced some time in January and be used from the start of  the 2011 season.

While identities of the companies that submitted offers was not revealed, Start Today (the company behind the ZOZO series of shopping sites) is said to be one of them.

I’m betting on Zozotown. In the past week or so there is a HUGE push for Zozo in the Makuhari area. There’s Zozo buses, a very large Zozotown “Congratulations Marines” poster in Kaihin-Makuhari station, and Zozo posters of all sorts all over the place.

Seems suspiciously like they want a Zozo-Jou as well. And yeah, I am betting that would be the nickname.
