Ryoji Aikawa told reporters on Wednesday that he owed a lot of his offensive success last season to Shinya Miyamoto.  Aikawa will also be heading to Saipan in January for his training -- seems he might invite a couple of the younger pitchers to join him there.

If Masanori Ishikawa ends up being the opening day pitcher in 2011, it'll be his 4th straight opening day start and 6th over his career.  And with a 3-2 record on opening day, Ishikawa is just one win away from setting a new club record for opening day victories.

Kyohei Muranaka is also a candidate to start on opening day.

Mizuno showed Yoshinori Sato his new Global Elite glove during the Mizuno Advisory Staff Meetings today.

Said Yoshinori, "I was impressed by how light [the glove] was.  The snug fit should also lead to my best performances.  Hopefully the glove becomes popular as I put results."
