The Yomiuri Giants' Ikusei winter camp got started on Thursday at Giants Stadium. A total 13 players showed up for about 4 hours worth of practice that including fielding practice and BP.
Ikusei chief coach Kosuke Yoshihara said, "It was a good practice for a first day. We'll find issues each player needs to address so that they'll be ready to show what they're capable of during spring camp."
Hisayoshi Chono will be going to Guam with Shinnosuke Abe and Hayato Sakamoto in January for training. Chono is hoping to learn a few things from both players and would like to hit at least 20 homers next season (he finished with 19 this year).
Daisuke Ochi will be signing an advisory contract with Mizuno. It seems the company is already planning on releasing an Ochi model glove.
