12/7/2010: Hideki Matsui, Koji Uehara, Hisanori Takahashi

Nikkan Sports mentions that the Tampa Bay Rays may be players for Hideki Matsui.  They also mentioned the Oakland A's, Baltimore Orioles, and Kansas City Royals.  The only problem with the Rays may be that they play in stadium with FieldTurf.

Sports Hochi reports that the Baltmore Orioles don't want to give Koji Uehara a multi-year deal.  Seems they don't want to get burned on the injury front again.  Sports Hochi also mentions that 5 other clubs are interested in Uehara, including the Brewers.  Sponichi adds that the Cardinals are also showing interest.

Hisanori Takahashi started his workouts after he finalized his 2-year deal with the Angels.  On Monday, he worked out (running, playing catch) for about 3 hours at a field in Yokohama.  It seems Takahashi also started throwing around a weight (with steal) ball.

Hanshin Tigers president Nobuo Minami told reporters that he was leaving it up to GM Shoji Numasawa to decide whether or not the team should go after Hideki Okajima.  He also added that as far as he knew, there were no new developments and that there were no plans for him to meet with Okjima at this time.
