Daily Sports is reporting that the Hanshin Tigers and Craig Brazell are close to finalizing a 2-year extension worth 360M yen. A Tigers' rep is scheduled to fly over to the US to finalize the deal within the next few days. The deal is also said include a buyout for the second year.
Brazell's salary for the 2011 season will be 180M yen plus incentives, up 100M yen from this past season.
The Tigers signed a 2-year-deal worth 100M yen per year with Matt Murton before the start of the 2010 season. The second year included a buyout, which they won't exercise. As such, the Tigers plan on formally announcing Murton's return next season.
And while the Tigers likely won't give Murton a raise, it does appears as though they'll give him a bonus for his 214-hit season. There's also a possibility that they'll re-structure his incentives.
