The first move for Oakland might involve Hideki Matsui. Matsui's agent, Arn Tellem, told The Chronicle that proposals might start coming in this weekend, which points to a decision by the designated hitter/outfielder soon, maybe even early in the week.
Nikkan Sports reports that the Minnesota Twins might be looking into signing Hiroyuki Kobayashi. The Twins seems to be interested in Kobayashi not only because of his experience as a reliever, but also as a support system for Tsuyoshi Nishioka.
The Red Sox and Dodgers are also mentioned.
The Yankees, White Sox, Rays, and Red Sox are all apparently interested in Takashi Saito. The Yanks and Red Sox apparently see Saito as a possible set-up while the White Sox and Rays see Saito as a possible closer.
The Los Angeles Dodgers announced on the 10th that Daisuke Yamashita will be returning to the team for a third season as a coach at Camelback Ranch. He'll also work as an Exchange Program Instructor. (via Nikkan Sports)
