According to Nikkan Sports, the Hanshin Tigers are thinking about offering Jeff Williams a job as a US-based scout. He would join the Tigers other US scout, Andy Sheets, in helping cover the US.
The Tigers originally wanted to hire Williams as a scout after he left the club in 2009. But since he was still interested in continuing his career, the Tigers didn't push the matter. The Tigers still aren't sure if Williams is ready to call it quits (it seems he's currently working out a regular basis), but if he is, they plan on offering him a deal.
If Williams takes the job, he'll likely take the West coast with Sheets focusing on the East coach. The Tigers are also hoping to take advantage of Williams' Australian background as well.
