The 2010 draft pick workouts will begin some time in the middle of January through to the 30th.  The team is already thinking about what to do about the 50 meter distance between the player dorms and the Kamagaya facilities.  Seems they might try to set up some sort of barrier using construction cones. ... 2010 draft picks will also probably move into the player dorms some time around 1/10 next year.

It appears Yuki Saito (1st round) could get an exhibition game start during a three game series against the Hanshin Tigers (between 3/19 - 3/21).  Or at least that's what Akinobu Mayumi is saying Masataka Nashida told him. Nikkan Sports mentions 3/21 as the date. ... Saito checked out the Kamagaya facilities on Tuesday (sometime between 12:45 and around 2:00pm) and was impressed with what he saw.  Seems only a few people knew of the visit. ... Ikuhiro Kiyota (LOT) can't wait to face Yuki Saito (1st round) and hopes to record either a hit or homer during his first AB against him.  Kiyota (Toyo Univ) once faced Saito (Waseda Univ) at the 2007 Jingu Tournament.  While Toyo Univ won the game 2-0, Saito tossed 6 shutout innings and gave up just 1 hit. ... Saito was apparently given an offer to be a guest at NHK's Red/White Song Battle this year, but the Fighters turned the offer down. The reason: so that Saito can focus on his preparations.

Yoshifumi Okada's three pieces of advice for Junya Ishida (Ikusei 3rd round): get married; everyday is a battle; and don't forget your manners.  Okada added that marriage was big because it gave you something you wanted to protect.
