Orix Buffaloes News and Notes: December 15, 2010

Kazuki Kondo is getting a new number next season.  He'll be going from the number 65 to the number 11.  The previous owner of the number, Masanobu Okubo, announced his retirement back in October.

The Buffaloes announced on Monday that Takahiro Okada will be participating in Imamiya Ebisu Shrine's Hoekago Gyoretsu (宝恵駕籠行列) on 1/9/2011.  Each year the team sends one person (manger or a player) to participate in the ceremony and it seems Okada was selected to represent the club in 2011.

Train buff Hiroshi Kisanuki got an offer to be a station master for a day at Sendai Station in Satsumasendai, Kagoshima.  Unfortunately the offer was for 3/12/2011 (to commemorate the connection of the Kyushu Shinkansen line and the Sanyo Shinkansen line at Hakata Station), smack dab in the middle of the exhibition game season.  That means Kisanuki will need to get permission from the club before he can accept the offer.
