Toshiya Sugiuchi likes the idea of acting owner Kazuhiko Kasai joining in on his next round of negotiations on the 25th and said that having him around could help make things move along more smoothly.

===

Hiroaki Takaya purchased a Trek road bicycle to help him strengthen his legs (easier on the knees to ride a bike on asphalt than run).

===

Jose Ortiz rehab from right knee surgery in October is apparently going well.  He joined up with the team the other day in order to go on the team's victory trip to Hawaii.  While Ortiz still isn't able to do a lot of running, he feels he'll be ready for spring camp.

Seiichi Uchikawa apparently wants to do more running next season (even though he's never stolen more than 8 bases in any one season over his career) and perhaps help the team get closer to 200 stolen bases.  The Hawks finished with a team total 148 stolen bases, which was tops in either league.

Tomoaki Egawa was seen running up and down the stairs in the stands at Yahoo Dome on Tuesday.  He also spent about 30 minutes in taking BP in the cages.  Egawa will be working out in Kagoshima in January and is hoping to be fully prepared to compete for a starting job during spring camp.
