The Fighters will apparently invite physical education high school teacher (and manager of the Komyo Gakuen Sagamihara High School baseball team) Yukio Motomura (本村幸雄) to help out some of the younger players on the team. Not just in terms of baseball, but also with life in general. And it seems there's a chance he could end up living in the player's dorms so that he can provide support around the clock.
Hichori Morimoto dropped by the Nippon Ham Fighters office on Wednesday to say his final goodbyes. He was later approached by the media and asked if Yuki Saito (1st round) might be able to take over as the team "performer." Horimoto's reply: "No, no way. He doesn't seem like that kind of a person. ... Maybe Toshinori Asanuma."
The Junichi Fujii line of God Hand merchandise may be getting a second run. The Fighters prepared 800 items for Yuki Saito's (1st round) press conference at Sapporo Dome and sold out in 45 minutes.
