Waseda University celebrated it's Tokyo Big 6 Fall League Championship and Jingu Tournament Championship at a hotel in Tokyo yesterday. About 700 people attended the event.
Waseda manager Atsuyoshi Otake said that the team was only able to win because everyone came together. Yuki Saito pointed to the new artificial turf that was installed at their training grounds as being pivotal to their championship run. Saito added that even though he was moving on to the pros, he would still support the club. Tatsuya Oishi said that he was surprised with the turnout and that he was glad the team was able to close things out with the championship. He also said that the best way to give back to Waseda was to do well in the pros and that he looked forward to pitching against his former teammates, Saito and Yuya Fukui.
