An event celebrating Takahiro Okada's 2010 home run title was held on Saturday in Osaka. About 250 people (friends, family, and supporters) attended the event.
On Friday, Okada visited a welfare facility in Toyonaka, Osaka and was asked by one of the visitors if he had any interest in playing in the Majors. Okada's reply: "I've only played at Ichi-gun for 1 year so that's not something I'm thinking about. I do have a vague desire to play, but I've never really thought about it."
Okada is, however, hoping to donate more of his time to various organizations. But in order to that, he also realizes he needs to string together a number of successful seasons, otherwise he won't get any to help support his cause.
