Yasuyuki Kataoka worked out at Seibu 2 Stadium on Sunday. He did some running, played some catch, and took some BP. Kataoka is still in the process of recovering from a right calf injury and doesn't plan on doing any serious running until spring camp.
Kataoka also told reporters that the last thing he wanted to do was get thrown out by Toru Hosokawa.
Said Kataoka, "I think [Hosokawa] has one of the best arms. He's a threat, but I've also got 4 straight stolen base titles on my side. I want to make sure I don't even get thrown out once."
Seems Hosokawa also dropped by Seibu 2 Stadium on Sunday to practice. When asked he thought about Kataoka's comment, he said that a perfect SB record against him would likely be impossible and that he thought their confrontation on the field would be interesting.
Takeya Nakamura also worked out at Seibu 2 Stadium on Sunday. He played catch with Kataoka at a distance of about 30 meters before taking BP (soft toss and the cages).
Hisashi Takayama and Masahiro Abe played badminton against each other at the Seibu indoor training facilities on Friday. Takayama ended up beating Abe.
Nakamura, Takayama, Hiroshi Hirao, and Takumi Kuriyama made appearances at a dinner show on Sunday. 176 fans paid 18,000 yen to attend the Lions' first dinner show that included French food, an autograph session, and memorabilia giveaways.
