According to Sponichi, operations director Akira Ishikawa is thinking about giving their Ikusei players a shot at making the 70-man roster.
The Marines were said to be looking into a number of foreign players to help fill their 70-man roster, but it seems they have temporarily stopped their season. Once Bob McCrory officially joins the team, the Marines will have 68 players on their 70-man roster. Ishikawa recently told reporters that he was thinking about giving Ikusei a chance to win one of these two spots. The second spot will be left opened for emergency purposes.

Yuji Yoshimi plans to work out with Ikusei Yukihiro Kimoto beginning on 1/5/2011. He also plans on putting Kimoto through the same kind of training that went through when he spent two winters with Hiroki Kokubo.
Said Yoshimi, "[His sessions] were really tough. We woke up at 5:30am and hit the weight room at 7am and my body was tired. He taught me just how far I could push myself before the start of camp. I'd like to show that to Kimoto."
