Sanspo reports that Toshiya Sugiuchi has no interest in the Majors and is instead interested in pursuing 250 victories while pitching in the NPB.
"I hardly have any desire to play in the Majors," said Sugiuchi. "My goal is to win 250 games in Japan."
Interesting that he doesn't say with the Softbank Hawks. If Sugiuchi really is serious about staying in Japan, it'll be that much more important for the Hawks to make nice with him.
Of course, it could also just be posturing on his part to make the Hawks more agreeable.
