Tatsunori Hara told reporters on Sunday that the closer position will be up for grabs during spring camp.  Players like Tetsuya Yamaguchi, Daisuke Ochi, and Jonathan Albaladejo are expected to compete for the position.

Tetsuya Matsumoto worked out at Giants Stadium on Sunday -- he did some running and threw into a net.  Matsumoto also spoke of the new regulation NPB baseball and said that the ball felt "hard" on contact and that it felt completely different.  Matsumoto also feels he'll need to make adjustments on defense as well (like playing a little more shallow).

The media learned on Monday that the Tokyo Yomiuri Kyoji-gun Oendan decided to cease operations (as of the end of this past season) after one of its members was found to be breaking the spectator agreement by selling tickets at an online auction.  The Oendan is taking responsibility for the members actions by be closing it's doors after 30+ years of supporting the team.

The Giants posted a call for a new oendan on their website Monday.
