Japan slowly moving into the New Year’s holiday

by on Dec.29, 2010 @ 12:08 am, under NPB

Just a heads up: most companies in Japan usually begin to wind things during the final week in January.  Many have either already shut down their business operations (like on Monday or Tuesday), or will be shutting them down shortly (like at the end of the day Wednesday) for the New Year's holiday.  Japan then more or less goes into a slumber until January 3rd.

While I don't have any major plans for the New Year's holiday, I may not be able to provide updates as frequently during this time period as there are number things I must do (tradition calls for a big house cleaning before the end of the year and then visits to relatives during the first few days of the New Year).  I don't really expect there to be any major stories during the New Year's holiday, but I will try to sit down at least once a day for updates.

And unless I say otherwise, my posting schedule should return to normal on the 4th.

In any case, for those will be going away, or will be putting the Internet on hold during the New Year's holiday, I wish everyone a very happy and healthy New Year.
