The Hawks closed out their business operations for the year on Wednesday.

Nobuhiko Matsunaka's thoughts on his 200M yen pay cut:

All I can say is that I'm extremely disappointed in myself.  But I'm a professional, results are everything.  If I don't [put up results], I'm going to see a drop [in salary].  I can't get it all back, but I can get some of it back next season.  I need to turn that into my motivation. ... I need to win a starting job during camp / the exhibition game season.  The team added players to improve itself.  And I can play so long as I win a starting job.  I'll start hitting in January.  I want to win a spot on the opening day line-up.

Yoshiaki Fujioka is thinking about changing his delivery from the set position to the no windup position.

Said Fujioka, "I'm rushing myself when I pitch and I thought I'd try something a little slower."

Seems Fujioka got the idea after watching Shunsuke Watanabe (LOT) pitch.

Munenori Kawasaki was apparently named an ambassador for his hometown (Aira, Kagoshima).  An official ceremony will take place on January 6th.
