Masahiro Yamamoto closed out his training at Nagoya Stadium on Thursday. After spending some time in the weight room, he played catch with the staff for about 15 minutes.
36-year-old Hitoki Iwase feels he can keep pitching until he's 40, so long as he finishes out the 2011 season without any problems.
"I'll be at a crossroads next season," said Iwase. "If I can make it through the full season, I think I'll be able to pitch until I'm 30. The big question will be whether or not I can make it the whole year without getting hurt."
Iwase then added, "If I'm going to keep pitching, closing is the only job for me."
