Speaking at a fan event on Monday, Hirokazu Ibata said that he was feeling great and was ready to go anytime.
Ibata missed some playing time last year due to problems with his right eye. And after Hiromitsu Ochiai said that no one was guaranteed a starting position, Ibata spent most of his time in December working out (something he normally doesn't do).
"Let me just say one thing," said Ibata. "I'm moving really well right now. [I feel like] I'm 20 years younger. Honestly, I'm ready to start camp anytime. I wouldn't even mind if camped started on January 1st."
He also added, "If I just do things as normal, I should be fine. Playing everyday is my style. I want to play in every game. ... At least 10 more years. I'll say that to you now and do my best."
