Masahiko Morino left for Guam out of Chubu International Airport on Tuesday and will return to Japan on the 12th. While Morino went to Guam with Akifumi Takahashi last year for his training, he decided to only take his trainer along with him this year (he wants to workout on his pace). Seems Morino also left his bat behind, packing only some baseball and his glove. Before leaving Morino told reporters that his goal for 2011 was to bat .300, hit 30 homers, and record 100 RBIs.
Tatsuo Kinoshita apparently decided to use a softball for his training exercises. While spending about 2 weeks in the Dominican Republic in December, Kinoshita saw that Dominican players were playing catch using a softball.
Said Kinoshita, "Over there, they [play catch] using a softball. They do it so players can focus on strengthening their shoulders."
