Yoshiyuki Kamei worked out at Giants Stadium today and worked on his fielding (at third) and hitting.
Said Kamei, "I just want to do what I can to learn how to play third. I've also completely removed the OF from my mind. ... For me, instead of making adjustments, I need to show everyone I can play. There are plenty of things I need to work on."
Hidetoshi Tsuburaya, Hideki Asai, and Hayato Sakamoto also took fielding practice with Kamei.
Tsuburaya later told reporters that he was impressed with how well Kamei moved around and that there was plenty he could learn from him.
Asai also spent about 20 minutes hitting grounders to Kamei.
Sakamoto is planning on working on his lower body (to improve his hitting power) during his training in Guam.
Hideki Sunaga arrived at Giants Stadium around 9am today and did some running and played some catch. Sunaga is apparently looking forward to the new start he was given when he was traded to the Giants for Wirfin Obpiso.
Shun Tono is hoping to lose about 4-5kg (drop from 89kg to around 85kg) during his training in Guam. The Guam group took off from Narita today.
Hisayoshi Chono started his year last year at 11:11:11am. This year, he started things off at 11:00am. Seems this year his start time was just a coincidence. Chono spent about 30 minutes running outside before taking BP indoors.
