Tomoaki Kanemoto (HAN) worked out for about 2 hours with Sho Nakata (HAM) at Athlete on Wednesday.  Since Kanemoto is still rehabbing his right shoulder, he's been focusing on lower body exercises like squats.  And because he hasn't been able to work on his upper body that much, it seems he has also lost muscle.

Kanemoto hopes he'll be ready to start throwing into a net and swinging a bat by the start of spring camp.

Yasutomo Kubo showed up at the Tigers' clubhouse on Wednesday to start up his training in the new year.  Regarding his contract situation, Kubo told reporters that he really didn't mind if it took time, so long as he was ultimately satisfied.

Shinjiro Hiyama took off for Guam on Wednesday.  He'll be spending the next 2 weeks or so working out in Guam with players like Ryo Asai and pro golfers Kumiko Kaneda, and the Takemura sisters.
