JABA considering new tiebreaker rules for 2011

The Japan Amateur Baseball Association's (JABA) Koji Aso (head of the rules / regulations committed) said that the association was considering making the following changes to their tiebreaker rules this year:

Since games have been getting shorter, tiebreaker rules will go into effect from the 12th inning instead of the 11th; and

Instead of starting tiebreaker innings with the bases loaded with 1 out (following the batting order from the previous inning), tiebreaker innings will now be based on international rules, that is, they'll start with runners on first and second with no outs (from anywhere in the batting order).

An official decision on the changes could be made during a meeting in February.
