Yomiuri Giants News and Notes: new Winning Giabbit logo

Yoshinobu Takahashi took BP for the second straight day (33 swings, 2 over the fence) today.  He training also included running, playing catch, and taking fielding practice.  His practice session today lasted about 4 hours.

After doing some running at Giants Stadium earlier today, Hideki Sunaga moved indoors and threw 31 pitches to a squatting catcher (11 of which were sliders).  This was the first day time this year that Sunaga threw off-speed pitches during his bullpen session.

Shota Kimura worked out at Giants Stadium today (running, playing catch).  Kimura experienced right elbow problems last year but told reporters that his elbow felt fine after playing some catch indoors today.  He added that he would be happy if he could get some time in the bullpen at some point before the end of the month.

Team president Tsunekazu Momoi told reporters that the team was thinking of setting up a team shop at Tokyo Sky Tree when it opens next year.  There will apparently be about 300 spaces available for shops inside the tower.

The Giants revealed their new Winning Giabbit logo today (the last time it was redone was back in 2006).  The new logo will not only be shown on the big screen at Tokyo Dome, but will also appear on Giants' merchandise.  It should be noted that the original Giabbit logo and Giabbit mascot are not being phased out (the design itself will be celebrating its 20th anniversary this year).
