Tatsunori Hara held a special class at Budo University yesterday.  About 400 students attended the class.

Hara spoke about spring camp and how he's planning on having the team head to Miyazaki one day earlier (1/30 instead of 1/31) than usual so that the team will have an extra day to get settled before the start of camp.  He also said he looked forward to Hisayoshi Chono's development (particularly on defense and on how he handles inside pitches) and that he felt Chono had the tools to become a team leader.

Hara has been holding special classes at the university since 2005 when he was made an honorary / guest instructor.

Tetsuya Utsumi has started working on building up his body.  His current training consists primarily of a lot of running (like running 30m, 40m, 50m intervals back and forth, 8 times each).

Hideki Sunaga used the new NPB regulation baseball during his bullpen session yesterday and told reporters it wasn't such a big deal since he also used it during the Intercontinental Cup last year in October.

Itaru Hashimoto worked out at the Sendai Ikuei Gakuen grounds on Tuesday said that he planned on winning a starting job in the outfield this year.  He'll have his work cut out for them as the Giants have plenty of options in the outfield, like Testuya Matsumoto, Yoshinobu Takahashi, Yoshiyuki Kamei, Hisayoshi Chono, and Yoshitomo Tani.
